During my trips to Korea spread over the last few years, the most unexpected thing I’ve encoutered is, without any doubts, the toilet system. Come to think of it, it really is nothing that terrible. It could easily be way much worse. But I really wasn’t expecting it in a country often mentionned in top-ten of high-techness.

Potato’s return

Buddhist Temple

Hiking to temple
We kept driving a while in countryside, looking for a hiking track. We left the car in parking and left for the mountain. After a short hour walking, we reached our destination, a Buddhist temple. Yet another “first time” for me. Lost between trees and rocks stood a few houses, and a tall “tower/statue” which obviously was the main point of interest for monks.

Here is, finally, the events following my birthday spent in Korea. We went to Lotte World, an amusement park in Seoul. That park is both indoor and outdoor. That was quite fun to go on rides when surrounded by buildings. A different point of view for the city indeed. The weather was still very hot, and I was please to discover some special “tower” spraying fresh water at people. Very refreshing.

Samgyetang – From the farm to the bowl
This weekend was also too much rainy for our original plan. So once again we postponed our trip and found an emergency plan. We drove to the west, near the sea, where we went shopping in another traditional market. I saw another bunch of very strange things to eat. Dead or not. And the biggest amount of ginseng I have seen at once so far.
