Buddhist Temple

Hiking to temple

We kept driving a while in countryside, looking for a hiking track. We left the car in parking and left for the mountain. After a short hour walking, we reached our destination, a Buddhist temple. Yet another “first time” for me. Lost between trees and rocks stood a few houses, and a tall “tower/statue” which obviously was the main point of interest for monks.

Trip around South Korea

Here is, finally, the events following my birthday spent in Korea. We went to Lotte World, an amusement park in Seoul. That park is both indoor and outdoor. That was quite fun to go on rides when surrounded by buildings. A different point of view for the city indeed. The weather was still very hot, and I was please to discover some special “tower” spraying fresh water at people. Very refreshing.

Samgyetang – From the farm to the bowl

This weekend was also too much rainy for our original plan. So once again we postponed our trip and found an emergency plan. We drove to the west, near the sea, where we went shopping in another traditional market. I saw another bunch of very strange things to eat. Dead or not. And the biggest amount of ginseng I have seen at once so far.

My first Hanji

Our surprise plan today got canceled because the weather was much more rainy than it was supposed to be. So instead I went with Luna to her last day at “school”. She attended Hanji lessons for a few weeks in a shop. It’s traditional paper used to decorate various objects. I never really saw how it was done, so this was my chance. I also tried to do some stuff myself, but I am no artist so I gave up quite quickly. Anyway, that was interesting and the shop owners made some really nice objects. Some of them looks almost like real plants.
